Internship Opportunities Near You:
Positions For Post-Graduate, Graduate, and Undergraduate Students: At Outreach Concern we offer specialized internships and practicums at all levels; undergraduates, post-graduates,and doctorial level providing
individualized training and supervision to meet the needs of the experienced and new comer to the field. Extensive Training: Our intensive, five day training program orients the intern-counselors to all facets of the
agency, as well as hands-on clinical training and counseling techniques. Selected speakers in the areas of child abuse, suicide prevention, and cross-cultural issues round out the yearly, 40-hour program.
Monthly Inservice Presentations: In addition to the annual training, monthly inservice presentations are held throughout Los Angeles and Orange County for our intern-counselors' continuing education. Recent topics
have included substance abuse assessment, loss and grief counseling, divorce and blended families, and working with adolescents. Strong Supervision: Training and supervision are a high priority at Outreach
Concern. We provide and mandate that all post-graduate and doctoral students meet weekly with their Regional Field Supervisor, as well as receive two hours of group supervision by one of our licensed clinical
supervisors. Undergraduate, practicum students are also assigned a Regional Field Supervisor for additional weekly training and development, as well as meet with a member of our RFS team for weekly group supervision.
Clinical Support Team: In addition to weekly clinical supervision, our intern-counselors receive support from our Regional Field Supervisors (professionals who are specialized in agency administration and counseling
theory, and who themselves are counselors) and on-going clinical direction from our Clinical Director (a licensed professional with over 25 years of private practice and supervisory experience). Diverse Case Loads:
Our intern-counselors are exposed to a rich and culturally diverse variety of cases and client issues, working with children and adolescents (grades K-12) and their families, providing a highly rewarding professional
experience for both client and intern-counselor. Paid Professional Malpractice Insurance: Professional malpractice insurance is provided for all intern-counselors, at agency expense. |
