On Campus Counselors: Counselors are available on campus to provide counseling, guidance, and intervention to students and faculty. More than 60% of our children are self-referred, seeking out the counselors on their own. A 24-Hour/7 Day Safety Crisis Hotline: At Outreach Concern, a trained counselor is always available on the crisis line. The calls we receive are urgent. Our counselors have saved children's lives. Community Clinic: Many times a troubled child is only a symptom of a deeper problem within the family. Or a family may need guidance and support in dealing with a disturbed child. Our Community Clinic provides counseling to assist families through difficult times and to give them management and parenting skills. Inservice Training for Teachers: Teachers and principals fill a vitally important role in children's lives. Our workshops are designed to give them management and coping skills for the classroom and to help create a positive teaching environment. Inservice Training for Parents: It is often said that children do not come with an instruction manual. But parenting skills can be learned and improved -- the goal of our inservice training is to provide information to parents to assist them in developing strong supportive relationships. Workshops for Children: In classroom workshops for children on a variety of topics that assists them in dealing with todays life problems. Educational Testing Services: A child who behaves poorly in the classroom may be suffering from an undetected learning disability. Our testing services are designed to screen for the most common disabilities, such as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder. Multi-County Referral Network: Children and families who require on-going psychological counseling are referred to our service associates -- licensed mental health practitioners who agree to work with our families on a sliding scale basis. Parent e-mail: Parents are invited to utilize the Outreach Concern parenting e-mail information line, which can assist them with their questions and concerns regarding parenting and child rearing. Teachers' Notes and Family Life: These two monthly newsletters are sent to the faculty and staff, as well as parents of our contracted schools, providing the reader with information that's germane to classroom management, parenting, and family life.
