Our programs are designed to empower teachers, support parents, and strengthen families. Most of all, we are committed to providing the kind of compassionate
intervention that can positively impact the life of a troubled child. Outreach Concern's uniquely comprehensive base of programs empower youth with the self-esteem and problem solving skills they need to overcome the challenges
they face in today's world. And there's no question that the impact is real… ...Our 2006-2007 Accountability Study that looked at 985 students, demonstrated a 55% improvement in academic performance, attendance, attitude,
behavior, effort, and social skills from those children who received counseling through the Outreach Concern program. This can be the difference between passing and failing. Between going to college - or not.
Counseling works. Our Approach to Counseling The world our children are growing up in is far more difficult than the one we knew. Families struggle to keep themselves
together with fewer supports. Because of child abuse, children are taught to fear strangers. Because of the rise of gangs and school violence, they also fear each other. We know that when children are burdened with
family or personal problems they cannot concentrate in school, and the benefit of education can be wasted. That's why we believe in treating the whole child. We work closely with families and teachers to ensure the best
possibility or success in school and in life. The Outreach Concern staff is comprised of licensed mental health professionals and highly trained, qualified intern-counselors. Our on-campus counselors provide students direct
access to a confidential source of help in a school environment. Our 24 hour Safety Crisis Hotline number posted around campus further assures kids can reach out for help any hour of the day or night. All counseling and
educational services are closely supervised by our team of specialists who are made up from experts in the fields of education, psychology, social service, MFT, and pupil personnel services. Our Services Faculty members are also welcome to use our counseling
services - as important role models and support systems, their health and well-being is part of the holistic treatment of our children. Services include:
If you are interested in finding out how Outreach Concern can become a part of your school, please have your school principal call us for more information. Although services such as on-campus counseling and the Safety Crisis
Hotline are available only to the children and families of our contracted schools, Outreach Concern is happy to offer referrals for counseling and educational testing to all members of the communities in which we serve. |
