Parents are part of the solution

Many problems begin at home. Divorce, sibling rivalries, economic pressures, death or illness in the family and similar issues can affect a student's performance at school. Sometimes the cause of a problem is obvious, but often it requires discussion with a counselor. In almost every case, parental involvement is critical. It begins with approval for a student to see a counselor, but also requires direct communication between counselors, parents and teachers. In many cases the Outreach counselor becomes the necessary link to involve parent, teacher and students, incorporating the steps necessary to bring about the students' success.
